Introducing Sweetheart Pub
We've been quiet...here's an update on what we've been busy with, and what's coming next.
We’re Rachel Hurley and Frank Keith IV, co-owners of the music publicity firm Sweetheart PR. If you aren’t familiar with us, we’re industry veterans with over 30 years of combined experience in the music business, having worked in publicity, licensing, talent buying/booking, promoting, label management, tour management, and more.
You might notice we’ve changed the name of this newsletter — we’re re-branding as Sweetheart Pub as we fold our newsletter/podcast/publicity efforts and more under one roof. We’ll be more than just another publicity firm in 2021 as we expand the services we offer.
We’re going dark for the rest of 2020 to work on expanding our content for 2021. We’ve learned a lot this year, and we’re currently working on bringing you extended video-based consulting courses on all things music business: organization, networking, building your team, marketing, publicity, radio, social media, and much, much more…we’ll even talk merch!
Being a small PR firm — it’s just the two of us! — we can only take on so many records/clients at once, which means we simply can’t work with everyone all the time (we’re currently booked into Summer 2021 for traditional PR services). We started this newsletter to extend our network of musicians, labels, and other industry professionals, as well as enable you to extend your network through the connections we make. We intend to continue to deliver and expand on that into 2021 and beyond.
Our mission is to empower independent musicians with everything they need to be successful.
With this in mind, we’re shaking up the newsletter paywall:
Current subscribers: Thanks for being with us at the start of this journey. We’ve just extended your subscriptions for another year at no extra cost to you.
Non-subscribers: We’re currently offering a year-long subscription for $30 (today through Friday only — this will reset to $45/year on Saturday).
As for the newsletter…
We’ll still be bringing you interviews with leaders in the music business, but we’ll be removing them from the paywall as we distribute the podcast everywhere — which means you will now be able to listen wherever you get your podcasts.
For subscribers, we’ll continue to bring you weekly industry news items, the DIY toolkit, social media tips & tricks, success stories, and commentary on timely / prescient issues facing the music community at large.
We also want to emphasize that we are open to your feedback; don’t hesitate to reach out to us if there’s a topic you’d like covered, or something we’ve already touched on that you might want explained in further detail or from another angle.
Think of us as theSkimm — for musicians.
SEE YOU IN 2021!
Have a question or a tip? Just want to get in touch? Our line is always open -- hit us up and we’ll be in touch promptly.
